Preview: Crossland Cavaliers vs. Oxon Hill Clippers
Crossland is 0-10 against Oxon Hill since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Crossland Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Oxon Hill Clippers at 7:15 p.m. Crossland is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Crossland came up short against College Park Academy and fell 42-32.
Crossland might have lost, but man, Kendra Gaton was a machine: she scored 22 points. That was a full 68.8% of Crossland's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Iyana Ellis-Payne, who scored nine points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Oxon Hill gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fairmont Heights 79-9 at home. Winning may never get old, but Oxon Hill sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Crossland has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Oxon Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
Crossland took a serious blow against Oxon Hill in their previous matchup back in January, falling 73-17. Can Crossland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
