Softball Recap: Bridge City Comes Up Short

Bridge City fell victim to Silsbee and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Bridge City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9-1. As for Silsbee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bridge City is set to challenge their familiar foe Jasper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Silsbee will face off against rival Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 4.1, the Bears 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
