Recap: Spring Grove Lions vs. Grand Meadow Superlarks
The Spring Grove Lions waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Grand Meadow with a 51-47 win. For Spring Grove, this counts as revenge for the 45-20 defeat Grand Meadow walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Spring Grove found their leader in underclassman Siri Konkel, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Konkel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brinley Middendorf, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Spring Grove's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Grand Meadow, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Grove and Lanesboro will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Grand Meadow, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully LeRoy-Ostrander focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
