Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Academy Raiders vs. Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles

The Oak Hill Academy Raiders will head out to square off against the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hill Academy has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Oak Hill Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Canton Academy, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, Tupelo Christian Prep had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 13 matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Reeves Kenney looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Thomas Goralczyk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Godown, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Tupelo Christian Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thrasher struck out eight times.

Tupelo Christian Prep's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Oak Hill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Oak Hill Academy suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Tupelo Christian Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2017. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
