Maryville scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Benton Cardinals, falling 13-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Spoofhounds in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost nine in a row.

Carson Hageman was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Parsons, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Maryville's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Benton, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
