Baseball Recap: Bear Lake Comes Up Short

Bear Lake had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it five. They fell 19-15 to the Benzie Central Huskies. Even if the Lakers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Benzie Central, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

For Benzie Central's part, Lane Sanchez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The Huskies are undefeated when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Osborne, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Bear Lake will head out to square off against Mesick at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Benzie Central, they will welcome Buckley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
