Northwestern Regional won the last time they faced Shepaug Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Highlanders put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Highlanders have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Northwestern Regional's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Shepaug Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Northwestern Regional will take on Canton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shepaug Valley, they will square off against Thomaston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
