Baseball Recap: Catholic Central Triumphs

Catholic Central won the last time they faced Bellaire and things went their way on Friday too. The Crusaders came out on top against the Big Reds by a score of 6-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Michael Fabbro was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Catholic Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zach Bryan, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Bellaire, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Catholic Central and Bellaire could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 617th) will meet Harrison Central (ranked 307th) at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bellaire will take on Oak Glen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (680 vs. 66).
