Basketball Recap: Freeland Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Freeland Falcons came up short against Saginaw United and fell 57-47. The Falcons were up 35-20 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Freeland still got an impressive performance from Wilson Huckeby, who went 6 of 9from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Huckeby's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Heyn, who posted five points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Freeland fell to 2-1. As for Saginaw United, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeland will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saginaw United, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 18, 2025.
