Softball Recap: Rouse Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Rouse had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Tivy Antlers get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Friday. The Raiders' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matchups.

The result came thanks to Blakely Barber's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madilynn George, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Delaney Vannoy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Rouse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tivy only posted a batting average of .062.

Rouse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tivy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.
