Softball Recap: Point Arena Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Point Arena can now relate to. They came up short against the Ferndale Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 18-8. The Pirates have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Sophia Roach led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Hattie Piper was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Point Arena's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Ferndale, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Point Arena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ferndale, they will square off against Kelseyville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
