WPIAL AAAA Northern Eight recap November 5, 2013
Central Catholic added to the longest winning streak in WPIAL AAAA Northern Eight this week by beating Baldwin, 56-10. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Seneca Valley was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Raiders came in at 14 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
D'Ondre Gastion was the best receiver in the league this week as Pine-Richland lost to Woodland Hills. Gastion tallied 11 receptions for 88 yards. Michael Merhaut helped Pine-Richland's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 50 yards.
On the heels of Ben DiNucci and Conner Slomka, the Rams have had great success on offense. DiNucci leads the league in passing with 2,131 yards, while Slomka has rushed for 1,144 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is North Allegheny's Elijah Zeise, with 831 yards on 42 catches.
Central Catholic took down the Highlanders 56-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
