Baseball Game Preview: Poudre Impalas vs. Thompson Valley Eagles

The Poudre Impalas will venture away from home to square off against the Thompson Valley Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Poudre lost 10-4 to Roosevelt on Wednesday.

Angelo Vieira made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Thompson Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Severance on Wednesday and fell 11-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Silver Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Thompson Valley got a massive performance out of Cameron Denning, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Amari Richardson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Poudre's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Thompson Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Poudre got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Thompson Valley by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Impalas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
