Basketball Game Preview: Thornton Fractional North Meteors vs. Tinley Park Titans

The Thornton Fractional North Meteors will venture away from home to face off against the Tinley Park Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tinley Park took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Thornton Fractional North, who comes in off a win.

Thornton Fractional North is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Bremen: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Thornton Fractional North blew Bremen out of the water with a 74-7 final score. The Meteors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Thornton Fractional North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabrielle McClain out in front who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Precious Agwu, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Tinley Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 57-20 loss at the hands of Willows Academy. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Eagles are ranked 247th).

Thornton Fractional North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.7 points. As for Tinley Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Thornton Fractional North strolled past Tinley Park in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thornton Fractional North since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
