Basketball Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss

Assumption was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plaquemine Green Devils. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Green Devils are ranked 118th).

Assumption's defeat dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Plaquemine, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Assumption is taking a road trip to challenge St. James at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plaquemine, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Denham Springs at 5:00 p.m. Denham Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Plaquemine likes a good challenge.
