Flag Football Recap: Kelsey Funkhouser's Menacing Defense Leads Wauconda over Harvard

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Antioch, Wauconda was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Harvard Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 33-14. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Wauconda didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kelsey Funkhouser, Natalie Bahena, and Lia Ortiz picked up one apiece.

With the win, Wauconda broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7. As for Harvard, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Wauconda wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 46-30 loss against Crystal Lake South on the 29th. As for Harvard, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-0 defeat against Freeport on the 29th.
