Volleyball Recap: Catholic Central Finds Home Court Redemption Against St. Francis

There's no place like home for Catholic Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the St. Francis Mariners on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hilltoppers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Catholic Central not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept St. Francis between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Karley Loos paced Catholic Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Loos got some help from Averie Calkins and her 15 assists. Loos and Calkins didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Catholic Central's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-23. As for St. Francis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-21.

Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Messmer on the 17th. As for St. Francis, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Luther Prep on the 17th.
