Basketball Recap: Chesterfield's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Chesterfield and Mid-Carolina squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chesterfield had to settle for second. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mid-Carolina Rebels.

Despite the loss, Chesterfield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Terrahjah Robinson dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Robinson a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Trinity Turnage, who posted seven points and seven assists.

Even though they lost, Chesterfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Chesterfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.8 points. As for Mid-Carolina, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15.

Chesterfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mid-Carolina, they have already played their next contest, a 54-43 loss against Eau Claire on the 25th.
