Natalia has won three straight games at home, while Jourdanton has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Mustangs will host the Indians/Squaws at 7:00 p.m. Natalia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Natalia and Uvalde, and Natalia kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs blew past the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) 12-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls): they've now won four in a row.
Arabella Gallegos spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Ralynn Juarez was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aryanna Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Natalia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Jourdanton unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Monday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Devine. Indians/Squaws fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Warhorses since on Monday.
Jourdanton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Salazar, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Jourdanton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Natalia, their win bumped their record up to 21-7-1.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Natalia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Jourdanton struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Natalia suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Jourdanton in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
