Recap: Hannibal Pirates vs. Marshall Owls
The Hannibal Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell 45-33 to Marshall. Hannibal was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marshall apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Stephen Caviness continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Marshall, scoring 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caviness has scored all season. Deacon Arends was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Hannibal's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Hannibal will look to defend their home court on Monday against Macon at 7:30 p.m. As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to challenge Moberly at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Moberly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
