Softball Game Preview: Hayden Wildcats vs. Springville Tigers

Hayden is 1-8-1 against Springville since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, it was close, but Hayden sidestepped West Point for a 4-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Addison McCuistion looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Baylee Scott was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Hayden hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in 12 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springville). They blew past Corner 19-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 25 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Springville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 34-3-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hayden, their record now sits at 23-16.
