Recap: Gilman City Hawks vs. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers
The Gilman City Hawks lost against the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Gilman City fell 46-39 to the Panthers. Gilman City has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Grundy County/Newtown-Harris found their leader in underclassman Kinsley Allnutt, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Allnutt is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last three games she's played. Lexa Stonger was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Gilman City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Winston the next time they take the court. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris will host Winston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Gilman City will head out to face them on February 12th.
