Basketball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

Memorial lost against Western Reserve back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Memorial Red Devils took a blow against the Western Reserve Blue Devils, falling 48-16. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 796th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 358th).

When it comes to explaining why Memorial lost, don't look at Le'Asia Miller. Despite the final result, she posted five points. Miller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Western Reserve, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will head out to face off against Chalker at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Reserve, they are taking a road trip to take on McDonald at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
