Softball Game Preview: Caney Creek Panthers vs. Cleveland Indians

Caney Creek is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Cleveland a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Caney Creek Panthers will be playing at home against the Cleveland Indians at 6:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Caney Creek didn't have quite enough to beat The Woodlands and fell 5-4.

Madison Casper was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Raelynn Dingman and Izzie White stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dingman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while White went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Cleveland lost 16-1 to Willis on Tuesday.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Caney Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Caney Creek took their victory against Cleveland when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
