Baseball Recap: Green County Beats Hart County for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Green County entered their tilt with Hart County on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They skirted past the Raiders 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-8 two weeks ago.

Houston Hodges made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Andrew Houk was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Larson Matney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Green County pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
