Basketball Recap: Mt. Olive's Losing Streak Snapped at 14 Games

Mt. Olive's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Ramsey Rams by a score of 54-45. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Mt. Olive's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Bywater led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Bywater has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dexter Frizzo, who posted ten points, to go along with seven assists and four steals.

Mt. Olive's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ramsey, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Mt. Olive wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-24 loss against Gillespie on the 3rd. As for Ramsey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-26 defeat against Sandoval on the 2nd.
