Basketball Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace was the 53-45 winner over Gulf Breeze when they last played one another back in December of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dolphins on Wednesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Pace still got an impressive performance from Leighton Osborn, who posted 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Osborn's evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ikier, who put up nine points and six boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Breeze to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lila Jacobs, who earned 12 points. Madison Loftin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pace's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Gulf Breeze, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15.

Pace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-37 defeat against Navarre on the 16th. As for Gulf Breeze, they have also already played their next game, a 67-51 win against Pensacola Catholic on the 16th.
