Basketball Recap: Harlan Comes Up Short

Harlan lost against Bell County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Harlan Green Dragons had to suffer through a 81-41 loss at the hands of the Bell County Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Green Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Bobcats are ranked 43rd).

Harlan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14-1 record this season. As for Bell County, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Harlan will challenge Middlesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Middlesboro's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Bell County, they will square off against Madison Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
