Manhattan had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the Lincoln County Lions on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Tigers, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Manhattan can attribute much of their success to Tyson Pavlik, who rushed for 95 yards, and also threw for 90 yards and one TD. Those 95 rushing yards gave Pavlik a new career-high.
When it comes to explaining why Lincoln County lost, don't look at Rogan Lytle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 157 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 101 yards on 11 of 19 attempts. Lytle also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Manhattan's record now sits at 11-0. As for Lincoln County, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Manhattan will be playing at home against Three Forks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
