Baseball Recap: Pisgah Takes a Loss

Pisgah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-4 to the North Sand Mountain Bison. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Jackson Smalley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Pisgah's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Gilbert, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Pisgah now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Sand Mountain, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Coming up, Pisgah will welcome Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Sand Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge South Pittsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
