Baseball Recap: Niceville Victorious

Niceville won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Wednesday too. Niceville walked away with a 7-2 victory over Lincoln. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Niceville got a great performance from Brady Martin as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Deacon Avery was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Yahir Burgos was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Niceville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Niceville's record now sits at 16-3. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Niceville is facing Pine Forest at the right time seeing as Pine Forest is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against South Walton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
