Baseball Recap: Canyon Springs Has No Trouble Against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus

Canyon Springs won the last time they faced Democracy Prep Agassi Campus and things went their way on Monday too. The Pioneers blew past the Blue Knights 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.

Kenny Castro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Canyon Springs is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-11 otherwise. Castro was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Isaiah Rogers was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Canyon Springs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
