Basketball Recap: Pike Central Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Pike Central and Perry Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Pike Central had to settle for second. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Central Commodores. The Chargers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it 15 in a row.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Davis, who went 6-for-12 en route to 16 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Davis a new career-high. Jiles Mason was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Pike Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Perry Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.

Pike Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perry Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 39-37 loss against Evansville Mater Dei on the 7th.
