Softball Game Preview: Green Level Gators vs. Panther Creek Catamounts

Green Level hasn't had much luck against Panther Creek recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Green Level Gators are taking a road trip to square off against the Panther Creek Catamounts at 4:30 p.m. Green Level has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Green Level was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past Millbrook 13-12. The Gators' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Panther Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Leesville Road on Tuesday and fell 12-10.

Cassidy Robinson and Hannah Welborn did some serious damage despite the final result: Robinson scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Welborn scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sydney Gauldin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Green Level back to even at 3-3. As for Panther Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Green Level suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Panther Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Green Level avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
