Basketball Recap: Alta Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Alta had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Viewmont Vikings 51-48. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alta's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dash Reiser, who posted 16 points. The game was Reiser's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Matt Mckea, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points.

Viewmont lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Drezdon Jensen, who shot 40% from the field en route to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jeppesen, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points and five boards.

Alta's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Viewmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Alta has already played their next contest, a 61-51 loss against Timpview on the 25th. Viewmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
