Softball Recap: Hammond Central Comes Up Short

Hammond Morton hit Hammond Central with a 11-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Governors, falling 14-2. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Governors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Hammond Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Prisilla Cornejo, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Hammond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Hammond Morton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

As for Hammond Morton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mishawaka Marian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Governors are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
