Baseball Recap: Belpre Comes Up Short

Belpre lost against Southern back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chris Copen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Carson Moore was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Belpre now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Southern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Belpre will welcome Warren at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Southern, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
