The Keystone Heights Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Keystone Heights has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Monday, it was close, but Keystone Heights sidestepped Ridgeview for an 8-6 win. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly two runs.
Ethan Franklin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Guage Barry was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Tallon Campbell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Dunnellon as Santa Fe made off with a 12-2 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Angel Irizarry, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Beck, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Keystone Heights' record now sits at 5-2. As for Santa Fe, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
Keystone Heights came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Does Keystone Heights have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
