Basketball Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

Hickory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Indian River Braves. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 57-53 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hickory's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Indian River, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Orange County at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Indian River, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Princess Anne at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Indian River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
