Basketball Recap: Howard Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Howard won the last time they faced McKean and things went their way on Thursday too. The Howard Wildcats came out on top against the McKean Highlanders by a score of 85-72. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Highlanders are ranked 31st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nick Baysah was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Brown, who posted 13 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Howard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive games.

Howard's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for McKean, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Coming up, Howard will host William Penn at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. McKean has already played their next matchup (against First State Military Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
