Basketball Game Preview: Faith Academy Rams vs. Vigor Wolves

Faith Academy and Vigor are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Faith Academy Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vigor Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Academy is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Faith Academy took a blow against St. Paul's Episcopal, falling 75-21. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Saints are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Vigor on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew LeFlore out of the water with a 70-11 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-4.

Vigor pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Faith Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Things could have been worse for Faith Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-33 loss to Vigor in their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
