Baseball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Cherokee Trail Cougars

Eaglecrest is 1-9 against Cherokee Trail since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raptors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:15 p.m. Eaglecrest has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eaglecrest lost 16-9 to Denver East on Friday.

Eaglecrest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Sutton, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Landen Holmes was another, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail didn't have quite enough to beat Cherry Creek on Thursday and fell 10-9. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Landon Ellis was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Chidester, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cherokee Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Eaglecrest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
