Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They had just enough and edged the Christian Patriots out 3-2 on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Patriots are ranked 154th).

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1. As for Christian, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1-1.

Lincoln will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Logan Memorial Education Campus at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Canyon Hills at 3:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
