Preview: Maimonides M-Cats vs. Whitinsville Christian Crusaders
The Maimonides M-Cats will head out on the road to challenge the Whitinsville Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Maimonides is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Monday, Maimonides beat Prospect Hill Academy 48-38. Given Maimonides' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Prospect Hill Academy is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Whitinsville Christian earned a 45-32 victory over St. Bernard's Central Catholic on Monday.
Whitinsville Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Deters, who scored 13 points. Zeke Plantinga was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Maimonides' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0. As for Whitinsville Christian, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Maimonides was able to grind out a solid victory over Whitinsville Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2022, winning 55-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maimonides since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
