Softball Recap: Tampa Bay Tech Has No Trouble Against Brandon

Tampa Bay Tech hadn't done well against Brandon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Titans blew past the Eagles 17-7. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jaida T was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn M, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Tampa Bay Tech and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Brandon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Tampa Bay Tech and Brandon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Titans will take on Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (410 vs. 147). Meanwhile, Brandon (ranked 536th) will meet Riverview (ranked 250th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
