Soccer Game Preview: Innovation vs. Timber Creek

The Innovation Bulls are taking a road trip to face off against the Timber Creek Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Innovation's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Innovation is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against University on Wednesday. Innovation fell 2-0 to University.

Meanwhile, Timber Creek came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bears, sneaking past 2-1. Given Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Bears are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bowen Rotz and Tagg Lanusse scored both of Timber Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Timber Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight contests. As for Innovation, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-4.
