Basketball Game Preview: Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians vs. Stillwater Warriors

Waterford-Halfmoon is 2-7 against Stillwater since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians will host the Stillwater Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Waterford-Halfmoon took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 54-47 victory over Berlin/New Lebanon.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Stillwater beat Tamarac 53-48 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bengals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Mason Wagner and Kamerin Edmonds. Wagner had a solid game and posted 20 points. Meanwhile, Edmonds did his best for the losing side, putting up 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Stillwater's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 2-17.

Waterford-Halfmoon was dealt a bruising 79-52 loss at the hands of Stillwater when the teams last played back in January. Can Waterford-Halfmoon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
