Soccer Recap: Tanque Verde Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Tanque Verde after they claimed the first goal on Wednesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Thatcher Eagles by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Tanque Verde's goal came courtesy of Cristian Moctezuma, which was the first he's scored this season.

Tanque Verde now has a losing record at 4-5-1. As for Thatcher, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season.

Tanque Verde wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Palo Verde on the 17th. As for Thatcher, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against Catalina on the 17th.
