Basketball Recap: Wilby Takes a Loss

Wilby lost against Seymour back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wilby took a 70-54 bruising from Seymour. Wilby has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joey Carrafiello was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten boards for Seymour. The contest was Carrafiello's tenth in a row with at least 15 points. Robby Carrafiello was another key player, going 6-for-13 en route to 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Wilby's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Seymour, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Wilby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seymour, they will challenge Waterbury Career Academy at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Seymour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Waterbury Career Academy likes a good challenge.
