Football Game Preview: Wood-Ridge Blue Devils vs. Ridgefield Memorial Royals

The Wood-Ridge Blue Devils will square off against the Ridgefield Memorial Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgefield Memorial took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wood-Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Wood-Ridge will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 12 points on April 10th, then bounced right back against Lyndhurst on Wednesday. The Blue Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Golden Bears 33-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blue Devils' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Lia Russo was a one-woman wrecking crew as she rushed for 63 yards and one score, and also picked up 41 receiving yards. She also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Ridgefield Memorial fell victim to Wallington and their airtight defense on April 8th. They lost 24-0 to the Panthers. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wood-Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ridgefield Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
